The fresh taste you deserve.
Our goal is to get people freshly roasted coffee as quickly as possible. Right now we roast only once or twice a week, and we do so on demand. Normally we roast on Friday, but if demand dictates, we also roast on Saturday.
Coffee tastes best when it is fresh. A lot of people know coffee that has sat out all day in the coffee pot doesn't taste as good as the first cup. Although many know this is true for brewed coffee, many people don’t realize that coffee beans also go stale. Because of that, most folks also don’t realize just how good fresh coffee tastes when it comes from fresh beans. Roasted coffee beans are said to go stale after 2 to 3 weeks. Ground coffee doesn’t usually stay fresh longer than a week or two. Here is the kicker, though. When you buy coffee at the store or at a coffeehouse, how long has it been sitting there on the shelf?

After the coffee is cooled, bagged, and sealed, we either drop them in the mail or actually bring them to your house, if you live in Denton, TX. We want them in your grinder as soon as possible. You should note, even though we may get them to you the same day they are roasted, it is still best to wait 24 to 48 hours before grinding and brewing them.
Why Ethical
Coffee Matters
Another way we want to be different is that we only use Farm Gate Coffee. That isn’t a brand. Fair Trade coffee, you may have heard of. That is coffee bought from co-ops that ensure the farmers in the co-ops are paid fairly. Most people don’t realize that a lot of smaller farms don’t belong to co-ops. Farm Gate Coffee not only buys from co-ops, but also from small, independent farmers. They also pay them better than Fair Trade. This is beneficial for the farmers. It is also positive and negative for us. It is positive because the coffee is often uniquely flavored. It is negative because once it is sold, it is gone for the year. We won't bore you with the specifics, but just know they are often from very small farms, so the beans will be changed from time to time.
